Biography
Mostin Davis was born on June 26, 1910 in London. He studied at the schools of Charterhous and Magdalen College in Oxford, worked as an accountant at Trinity House . Volunteer joined the British Army at the beginning of World War II, later recruited to the Office of Special Operations. He participated in missions in West Africa, USA and South America. Married on August 6, 1942 in Lagos ( Nigeria ). In the summer of 1943 he was sent as part of a mission to Cairo [2] .
September 15, 1943, Mostin Davis led the British Mulligatawny Balkans military mission: Sergeant Nick Merwin, Sergeant John Walker, as well as Sergeants Wat and Shane. All were parachuted at the village of Crvena Voda, west of Mount Karaorman in occupied Yugoslavia. After the landing, Davis made contact with the Vranjian partisan detachment of the NOAU and its commander Zhivoin "Brka" Nikolic . With the help of Vlado Trichkov and Delcho Simov, he contacted the General Staff of the People's Liberation Rebel Army of Bulgaria.
Since the beginning of 1944, his colleague, Frank Thompson , a major in the Special Operations Directorate and commander of the Claridges mission, has also been part of Davis's military mission. Davis studied in detail the structure and composition of the army, after which he established contact with the British command and began to supply arms to the Bulgarian partisans [3] .
On March 23, 1944, as part of the Kosovo partisan brigade, Mostin Davis got involved in a battle with the Bulgarian troops near the village of Novo-Selo in the region of Mount Chemernik and died.
Posthumously awarded the Order of Outstanding Merit.
