On the Maidan
In protest actions Euromaidan Artem Mazur participated 2 months.
On February 18, 2014, he was wounded by fragments of a grenade during clashes in the Mariinsky Park , was beaten, and received an open head injury . From the day of injury was in a coma . His relatives planned to transport him to the Czech Republic or Poland for treatment, but on March 3 , without regaining consciousness, Artyom died.
Memory
- March 4, 2014 on the Independence Square said goodbye to the fighter 15 hundreds. Funeral Artem in the Mikhailovsky Golden-domed monastery , buried at home.
- On March 5, Khmelnitsky National University , in which the deceased had previously studied, was named after Artem Mazur [1] [2] .
Awards
- The title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Golden Star Order ( November 21, 2014 , posthumously) for civil courage, patriotism, heroic upholding of the constitutional principles of democracy, human rights and freedoms, selfless service to the Ukrainian people shown during the Revolution of Dignity [3]
