Biography

He graduated from school in Corinth . Certified senior mechanic.

He graduated from the theological seminary of St. Nicholas, and then the theological faculty of the University of Aristotle in Thessaloniki .

In 1972 he was tonsured a monk and ordained to the rank of deacon [1] .

In July 1976, the Metropolitan Panteleimon of Corinth (Karanikolas) was ordained and a priest .

From 1980 to 1985 he stayed in the monastery of Stavronikita on Mount Athos [1] .

Since 1985, he served in the Orthodox Mission in Korea .

In 1991, he was appointed head of the Orthodox Mission in West Bengal with a center in Calcutta . He developed significant missionary, charitable and social activities. He helped found the Orthodox Church Charity in India to help those in dire need in this country.

In June 2004, authorities refused to extend his stay in India [1] . He moved to the clergy of the Alexandrian Orthodox Church in order to engage in the Orthodox mission in Africa.

On October 27 of that year, by the decision of the Holy Synod of the Alexandrian Orthodox Church, he was elected bishop of Madagascar [2] .

On November 14, 2004, his episcopal consecration took place in Alexandria , led by Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria.

November 28, 2004 in Madagascar was his enthronement [3] .

In Madagascar, he undertook the construction of churches and spiritual centers, schools, philanthropic institutions, as well as a theological seminary. He paid particular attention to the supply of local priests and catechists. Under him, the hospital was reorganized, which provides free assistance to the poor [4] .

November 21, 2012 in connection with the construction of the Madagascar diocese to the rank of Metropolitanate became Metropolitan .
