Jin Yang was born in the capital of China, Beijing. His date of birth is May 16, but no one can tell for sure the year. I began to practice figure skating from a young age.
Skaters made their debut in 2009 at the national championship , where they took place in the top six. The following year, the couple made their international debut at the Junior World Cup in 2010 . However, this debut was spoiled by the fact that this couple was deprived of eighth place. This was due to the fact that the third Chinese couple did not have the right to speak at this championship. At the end of the year, the couple won bronze medals at the Junior Grand Prix finals.
In the fall of 2011, the couple made their debut in the adult stages of the Grand Prix. In January 2012, at the Youth Olympic Games, the couple became champions. A month later, at the junior world championships, the skaters became vice world champions.
At the junior Grand Prix finals in December 2013, Chinese skaters won gold. Three months later, they became world youth champions in Bulgaria . Further career flourished in the post-Olympic season in the fall of 2014 . In Barcelona at the Grand Prix finals, the Chinese skaters were fifth. The couple began the new season in early November, they performed at the home stage of the Audi China Grand Prix . Athletes confidently took third place. All previous achievements have been improved [6] . Athletes performed much more successfully at the final stage of the Grand Prix in Nagano , where they took second place and reached the Grand Prix finals for the second year in a row [7] . And at the very end, the skaters repeated their last year's achievements and took fifth place [8] . The couple did not perform at the national championship. Athletes in February 2016 in Taipei made their debut in the continental championship and won bronze medals. Preparing for the world championship in the United States , however, officials of the Chinese Federation decided to send another pair.
Soon, at the end of the championship, a pair of new partners were proposed by the decision of the Chinese Federation. His former partner paired up with Zhang Hao , and Jin Yang began training with Peng Cheng [9] .
A new pre-Olympic season, a new Chinese couple began at the home stage of the Grand Prix in Beijing , where they took second place in the Chinese Cup [10] . At the same time, Jin Yang improved his previous achievements in the free program and amount. At the end of November, they performed at the final stage of the Grand Prix in Sapporo , where they lost the first place in a difficult fight, but the skater improved his previous achievements in the short program (which they won) [11] . So in two starts in a new pair, Jin Yang's achievements were completely improved. This allowed them to confidently reach the Grand Prix finals in Marseille . In France, Chinese skaters flunked a free program and took last place [12] . At the end of December, the championship of China took place in Jilin in 2017, it did not have a number of leading Chinese skaters, a pair of Peng Cheng and Jin Yang became the champion of China. In mid-February 2017, Chinese skaters performed in the continental championship in South Korea , where they finished in fifth place [13] . At the same time, the free program was improved. A week later, Chinese athletes took part in Sapporo at the VIII Asian Winter Games , where they confidently took second place. Two months after this, the couple was sent to the team world championship , where they performed relatively well [14] [15] . At the same time, sports achievements in total were improved.

Three weeks later, the couple performed in the Grand Prix series at the Canadian stage , where they finished in the middle of the standings [17] . In mid-November, the couple performed at the French Grand Prix stage, where they took a place in the middle of the table [18] . In late December, in a bitter struggle at the national championship, they lost first place to their former partners. In January, all Chinese sports couples starred in the continental championship. However, this did not bring laurels to Gangneung at the Olympics, the couple failed, they could not reach the final part of the competition in South Korea.

Age Issues
In February 2011, the age of Yu Xiaoyu and Jin Yang became the subject of litigation. Despite the fact that according to the International Skating Union, Yu Xiaoyu was born on January 2, 1996, one of the Chinese websites indicated that she was born on the same day, but in 1998, and in that case was too young to participate in Grand Prix among juniors in the 2010-2011 season.
Her partner has also been verified. The ISU biography says that he was born on May 16, 1994, but 1989 is shown on the same site, that is, the age of the athlete was higher than the age limit for juniors [20] .
