Biography
Peter Salovei was born into the family of Ronald and Eilen Salovei, a professor of physical chemistry and a nurse.
He received his professional education at Stanford University (Bachelor of Arts, 1980; Master of Arts, 1980) and at Yale (Master of Science, 1983; Master of Psychology, 1984; Doctor of Psychology, 1986).
Since 1986, at scientific and teaching work at Yale University, since 1995 - professor, in 2000-2003 - head of the department of psychology, 2003-2004 - dean of the Higher School of Arts and Sciences, in 2004-2008 - dean of the college, 2008-2013 - Vice-rector of the University, from July 1, 2013 - President of Yale
Scientific activity
Peter Salovei is the author of a dozen books and more than a hundred articles on the study of emotions and behavior. Together with the professor at the University of New Hampshire, John D. Meyer [en] and David Caruso [de] (from Yale ), he developed the theory of “ Emotional Intelligence ”.
