Sergey Stefanovich Sukhinov (born January 14, 1950 , Moscow ) is a Russian writer, author of children's fairy tales and fantastic action movies, winner of the Russian Government Prize in the field of culture (2014).

A graduate of the Moscow Aviation Institute , candidate of technical sciences (1983), worked for 15 years in the aviation design bureau.
The author of more than 35 books. Laureate of the International competition of science fiction writers (1981). In addition to writing, he is engaged in translations from English, in his translation the six-volume edition of the American science fiction writer Edmond Hamilton was published.
Best known as the author of fan fiction , free sequels of such authors and cycles as “ The Wizard of the Emerald City ” by Alexander Volkov [1] [2] , “Star Wolf” by Edmond Hamilton [2] and others.
The cycle " Emerald City " is multi-heroic; it tells first of all about Ellie Smith, who has become a real fairy; about the adventures of Korina, daughter of Gingema, the strongest of sorceresses; about the background of Stella and Villina; White Knight Alarm, Donald and Princess of Darkness Lange. They are loosely connected with Volkov’s books (and sometimes contradict them) and with each other. In an interview with The World of Fantasy magazine, Leonid Vladimirsky , known as an illustrator of Volkov (who himself wrote the fairy tale “ Pinocchio in the Emerald City ” published in 1996), said that he was interested in Sukhinov, but he continued rather with “ The Wizard of the Country” Oz ”by Frank Baum than Volkov’s“ Emerald City ” [2] .
In 2014, Sergey Sukhinov was awarded the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of culture for the literary trilogy for the youth “Treasure and Cross” [3] . The author of a number of textbooks on the methodology of teaching literature at school, Natalya Evgenievna Kuteynikova [4] noted the important role that this and other books by Sergei Sukhinov written in modern material “in the context of the traditions of Russian teenage and youth literature of the twentieth century” can play in the education of adolescents [5] ] .
