Biography
Roman Senyk was born on July 26, 1968 in the village of Nakonechnoye Second in the Lviv region . At the age of eight, Roman distinguished himself by saving a girl who sledded and fell into a river [1] . He graduated from high school in the First First , after which he studied at a technical school. Over time, he left his native village, where his parents, brother and sister remained. In 1989 , Senyk was the first to raise the Flag of Ukraine in his village [2] .
Roman Senyk served as a peacemaker from Ukraine in the contingent of the UN Peacekeeping Force during the independence war of Croatia , was a flag carrier [ specify ] [3] .
Over the past fifteen years of his life, he lived in the city of Turku (Lviv region) , worked as an operator at a gas station . Roman had a wife, Lyubov Senyk, but they did not have children [4] .
Euromaidan
He was in 29 Boykovskaya hundred self-defense of the Maidan . Constantly on duty from six to nine in the morning. He carried with him the flag of Ukraine with the inscription "Turk", because of this, in a hundred he was called the "Turkov flag carrier" ( Ukrainian. Turkіvsky praporonosets ) [2] .

From the beginning of events, I traveled to Euromaidan three times in Kiev, I always tried to be there. There he always tried to be the right friend.
According to Ukrainian media , Roman Senyk was injured on January 22, 2014 near the Dynamo stadium on Grushevskogo Street during Euromaidan , when Roman stood with the flag at the front line. A bullet to stop vehicles, a sniper hit him in the shoulder from above, slightly to the side and front. The bullet crushed bones and stuck in the lung. Roman underwent 2 operations in the Kiev City Clinical Hospital No. 17, lost 3 liters of blood, he had to amputate his arm. More than 350 people donated blood to help Roman [5] . Roman Senyk died on January 25 without regaining consciousness [6] .
The funeral took place on January 27 in the native village of Roman Nakonechny Second , where he became the first hero. The villagers themselves raised money for the funeral. About three thousand people came to say goodbye to the dead. Roman Senyk was buried in a mass grave, where soldiers of the Ukrainian rebel army were buried [7] .
According to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vitaliy Yarema , Roman Senyk was killed from smoothbore weapons for rubber bullets, which was loaded with hunting cartridges. [6] . On December 2, 2016, the head of the special investigations department of the GPU, Sergei Gorbatyuk, said that Senik and Zhizhevsky were killed by bullets that only the Ministry of Internal Affairs uses (to force stop vehicles), such bullets are not on sale, they are delivered to law enforcement agencies. [8] [9] Earlier, Gorbatyuk already stated that bullets were used to stop transport, but did not mention that they were available only to law enforcement officers. [ten]

- The title of Hero of Ukraine with the Golden Star Order (Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 890/2014, November 21, 2014, posthumous) - for civic courage, patriotism, heroic upholding of the constitutional principles of democracy, human rights and freedoms, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, dignity shown during the Revolution [12] .

Memory
- July 27, 2014 in the city of Turku on Mickiewicz Street, a memorial plaque to Roman Senik was inaugurated [14] .
