History
On September 1, 1847, by decree of the Holy Synod , the Latvian Latvian-Estonian Theological School was opened in Riga [1] .
The school was run by the Study Committee at the Holy Synod and the board of the Riga diocese . It was a four-year lower religious educational institution for the education of children of clergy, as well as Latvians and Estonians, immigrants from the peasant classes. According to the curriculum, it corresponded to the three junior classes of the classical gymnasium.
On the basis of the first graduation of the Theological College, on October 1, 1851, the Riga Theological Seminary was opened.
After 1918, the building of the theological school was transferred to the military school [2] .
