Vasily Arkhipovich Uguzhakov ( January 7, 1925 , Oraki , Khakassia - August 21, 1999 , Abakan , Republic of Khakassia ) - Soviet statesman and public figure; Chairman of the Oblast Executive Committee of the Khakass Autonomous Region (1967-1982); deputy of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR ; was repeatedly elected deputy chairman of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR; delegate to the six congresses of the CPSU .

Biography

Born on January 7, 1925 in the village of Oraki, Sharypovsky District, Khakassky District . In April 1943 he was drafted into the army. After graduating from the Asinov Military Infantry School, he fought on the 2nd Ukrainian Front as the commander of the machine-gun and mortar platoon. On December 4, 1943, he was seriously wounded, was in a hospital in Baku , and after disinfection he was demobilized due to disability. Since September 1944, he worked as a teacher in the Orak seven-year school, taught chemistry and physical education. After graduating from the Krasnoyarsk party school, in October 1946 , he worked as the first secretary of the Sharypov RK of the Komsomol of the Khakass Autonomous Region. After graduating from the Central Komsomol school under the Central Committee of the Komsomol in 1951, he was elected first secretary, then first secretary of the Khakassky regional committee of the Komsomol. In 1953 he graduated in absentia from the history department of the Abakan Pedagogical Institute . From 1956 to 1967 - Secretary of the Abakan City Committee of the CPSU , Secretary of the Khakass Regional Committee of the CPSU. In 1964 he graduated in absentia from the Khakass Agricultural College with a degree in livestock.

March 23, 1967 was elected chairman of the Khakass Oblast Executive Committee. On January 14, 1982 he retired, but continued to work actively as chairman of the regional, then republican Council of Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies, where he worked from 1987 to 1999.

V. A. Uguzhakov was repeatedly elected deputy of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, was deputy chairman of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR. He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War I and II degree, two orders "Badge of Honor", the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Friendship of Peoples, medals; He was awarded the titles "Excellent student of public education", "Excellent student of health care", "Excellent student of the border troops of the II degree", "Honorary Citizen of Askiz district."

He died on August 21, 1999 . In memory of V. A. Uguzhakov in Abakan , a memorial plaque was erected in the house where he lived in 2000, one of the streets in Abakan was named after him.
