Saratov State Law Academy (until 1994 - D.I. Kursky Saratov Law Institute, until 2011 - Saratov State Law Academy) - the federal state budgetary institution of higher education. It has 16 educational buildings, the largest scientific and legal library of the Volga region, graduate school, doctoral studies, 4 acting dissertation councils [2] .

History
The appearance of the Saratov State Law Academy is connected with the Decree of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of April 20, 1931 "On measures for the training and retraining of personnel of Soviet construction workers." By this decree, the faculty of Soviet construction and law of SSU was reorganized into the Saratov Institute of Soviet Law. Klugman M.M. was appointed the first director of SJI [3]
In 1938, the Saratov Institute of Soviet Law was renamed the Saratov Law Institute, and in 1939 the Saratov Law Institute. In 1948, by decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR “On Perpetuating the Memory of D. I. Kursky ”, the institute was given its name.
During the war, the majority of teachers and students went to the front, while those who remained joined the ranks of the Kirov regiment of the Saratov rifle division of the people's militia .
In the years 50-80, the university successfully developed, in 1972 the construction of a new educational building was completed. By a decree of the Presidium of the USSR Armed Forces of September 16, 1981, the SJU was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor .
By order of the State University of Russia of June 23, 1995, the Saratov Law Institute. D. I. Kursky was transformed into the Saratov State Academy of Law.
SGAP cooperates with many foreign universities. Among them, the National Law Academy. Yaroslav the Wise (Kharkov, Ukraine), West Kazakhstan University (Uralsk, Kazakhstan), University named after P. Mendes-France (Grenoble, France), University of Paris-8 (France), University of Dallas (USA), South Methodist University (Dallas, USA), Second University of Naples (Naples, Italy), University of La Sapienza ( Rome, Italy), University of Catania (Italy), University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), University of Vienna (Austria), University of Tartu (Estonia), University of World Economy (Sofia, Bulgaria), University of Cologne (Germany).
In 2007, the All-Russian Olympiads of schoolchildren on history and social science were held at the SGAP.
In 2011, GOU VPO Saratov State Academy of Law was reorganized (in accordance with the Procedure for creating, reorganizing, changing the type and liquidation of federal state institutions, as well as approving the charters of federal state institutions and making changes to them, approved by the Government of the Russian Federation of July 26, 2010 No. 539, and also on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation No. 2110 dated July 6, 2011), at the Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education Saratov State Legal Act demia [4] .
