Ilya Grigoryevich Uchaikin (December 10, 1934 - December 16, 2004) - Russian scientist, electrical engineer . Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1966).

Born with. Sabaevo Kochkurovsky district (Mordovia). By nationality, Mordvin (Erzya).

He graduated from the Penza Industrial Institute (1957).

He worked at the Saransk plant "Electric Rectifier": design engineer, senior engineer, head of design bureau, head of workshop, central factory laboratory, deputy chief technologist, deputy chief engineer and head of a special design and technological bureau.

In 1976 he graduated from the graduate school of the All-Union Electrotechnical Institute. In 1976-1979, the chief engineer of the Saransk branch of the Moscow Temp radio plant.

Since 1979, teaching and research at the University of Mordovia: Associate Professor, in 1980-1982 head. Department of Lighting Engineering, in 1982-2003 the head. Department of Automation, in 1982-1985 Dean of the Faculty of Electronic Technology.

In 1985-1992, head of the industry laboratory of the USSR Ministry of Electrotechnical Industry.

Candidate of Technical Sciences (1976), Professor (1993). Laureate of the Lenin Prize (1966). Honored Inventor of the Mordovian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1977).

The author of scientific developments in the field of power semiconductor instrumentation. The author of 15 inventions, published 3 study guides.
