Mateja Svet ( Slovenian. Mateja Svet ; August 16, 1968 , Ljubljana ) is a former Slovenian skier who played for the national team of Yugoslavia , specializing in technical disciplines. Multiple winner and medalist of the World Cup , world champion, owner of a small crystal globe in giant slalom . Silver medalist at the Calgary Olympics .

Career
In the World Cup, Matey Slat made her debut in January 1984 at the home stage in Maribor . A month later, he made his debut at the Olympics . In Sarajevo, she performed only in slalom, where she took 15th place.
In February 1986, Sveta won its first cup victory, winning a giant slalom at the World Cup in the Czechoslovak High Tatras . In 1987, she won three medals at the World Championships in Crans-Montana : silver in giant slalom and two bronzes.
In the 1987/88 Olympic season, she won three stages, which brought her victory in the classification of giant slalom. At the Olympics in Calgary, in the profile giant slalom, Light took only fourth place, but won silver in a special slalom.
A year later, at the 1989 World Cup in the United States, she won gold in slalom and a bronze medal in giant slalom. Gold medal Light became the first (and only) gold medal for the Yugoslav national team at world championships.
In 1990, she completed her sports career.
