Description

The machine uses polymer and titanium alloys to lighten the weight of the weapon. All parts except stores are made in Georgia. The total length of the weapon is 840 mm with the telescopic butt extended and 756 with the shifted one. Weight is about 3.5 kilograms. On the forearm and receiver there are Picatinny rails for mounting sights and accessories such as lights . The G5 is powered by standard 30 rounds STANAG magazines.

The main difference between the G5 and the M16 is the gas piston, designed to increase the reliability of the weapon. Automation is similar to M16, but unlike the prototype, a piston acts on the bolt frame , not a gas stream. The bolt frame has a recoil buffer to level the effect of recoil on the accuracy of fire [1] [2] .
