According to the 2000 census [1] , 12,413 residents of the 4,701 households and 3,417 families live in the okrug. The population density is 5.00 people per km 2 . In the district there are 6,003 residential buildings, with a building density of about 3.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 73.93%, African Americans - 0.35%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 1.26%, Asians - 0.23%, Hawaiians - 0.02%, representatives of other races - 21.45 %, representatives of two or more races - 2.76%. Hispanics accounted for 41.67% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 35.10% are children under the age of 18 years, 57.80% of households are married couples living together, 11.20% of households are single women without a spouse, 27.30% of households households are not related to families , 24.10% of households consist of one person, 10.30% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.59 people and the average family size is 3.08 people.
