Biography

From 1954, after graduating from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute , he worked as an engineer, then as a group leader, as deputy head of the design bureau of the Kolomna plant . From 1958 - head of the fatigue strength laboratory established by his initiative (later - the bureau). Later he became the head of the strength department of the UGKM.

As Head of the Strength Department of the Kolomna Plant, he taught at the All-Union Correspondence Polytechnic Institute (since 1992 - Kolomna Institute of the Moscow State Open University).

Family

Wife - Kazan Alla Mikhailovna. Design Engineer, Ph.D. Died 09/20/2012 (81 year). Sons: Saltykov Alexey Mikhailovich, born in 1958 Died April 10, 2016 (57 years old), Mikhail Mikhailovich Saltykov, born in 1967

Scientific Activities

The main areas of research are the theory and practice of ensuring the cyclic strength of transport medium-speed diesel engines. Development of the method of macronutrients. Physico-mechanical and geometric aspects of research. The discovery and development of the structural geometry of solids.

In 1967 he defended his thesis, in 1988 - his doctoral thesis.

With his participation, methods for calculating the strength of engine components and parts, methods for calculating moving links under the conditions of a variety of load conditions were created. A method has been developed for calculating the connecting rods and crankshafts for cyclic strength, which makes it possible to evaluate the safety margin and optimize the design by specific mass. The book “Structural geometry of solids” is written in which the main provisions of the author’s scientific discovery are presented - the existence of a special geometry space inside solids is proved. In the book, geometric objects of all 4 degrees of dimensionality are interpreted in a new way, the meaning of the concepts of extension and curvature is revealed. The book, the most significant articles of the author and other information about him can be found on his personal website: saltykov.pro.
