Club career

Asper as part of Mielby

Asper began his career at the Mielby Club. He quickly won the place of the main goalkeeper of the team and over four seasons spent more than 100 matches in all tournaments. In 1997, Matthias joined AIK . In the beginning, he was a substitute for Lee Baxter , but three months later he won the competition for the place of the main goalkeeper. In 1998, Asper issued a record-breaking dry run of 797 minutes and helped the club from Solna win the Allsvenkan League , and after a year to win the Swedish Super Cup . In 1999, he helped AIK qualify in the Champions League .

After Euro 2000, Matthias moved to the Spanish Real Sociedad . He could not win the competition for a place at the base and played in only 10 matches of La Liga . In 2002, in search of playing practice, Asper transferred on loan to the Turkish Besiktas , but even there he could not gain a foothold in the composition.

In the same year, Matthias returned to his homeland by signing a contract with Malmö . With the new team in 2004, he became the champion of Sweden for the second time. For three years, Asper has played more than 100 matches in all tournaments for the club. In 2005, he left Malmö and, without much success, played for the Norwegian Viking and Brommapoykarnu . In 2008, Matthias returned to his native Mielby. He was appointed team captain and a year later helped the club return to the elite. On September 15, 2010, in a match against Hekken , Asper scored his first career goal [2] .

International Career

On November 27, 1999, in a friendly match against South Africa, Asper made his debut for the Swedish national team , replacing Magnus Chilstedt in the second half [3] . In 2000, Asper got into the application for participation in the European Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands . At the tournament, he was the third goalkeeper and did not play a minute.
