Zbarazhsky district ( Ukrainian: Zbarazsky district ) is an administrative unit in the northern part of the Ternopil region of Ukraine . The administrative center is the city of Zbarazh .

Geographical position
The district borders on the north with Kremenetsky and Shumsky , in the south with Ternopolsky , in the west with Zborovsky , in the east with the Lanovetsky and Podvolochissky districts of the Ternopol region .
The area of the district is 863 km 2 (7th place among the districts).
The main rivers are Volchok , Gnezdechna , Gniezna , Rotten Gniezna , Goryn , Zhirak , Netich , Samchik .
History
The district was formed on December 4, 1939. The northern part of the district belongs to the historical region of Volyn and the southern part to the historical region of Galicia .
Demographics
The population of the district is 60 349 people (8th place among the districts; 2006 data), including 16 552 people living in urban conditions. In total there are 76 settlements.
