Club career
Mendes is a pupil of the Goias Club. On September 28, 2011, he made his debut in the Brazilian Series B [2] in the match against “ Portuguese Deportos ”. On October 3, 2012, in a duel against Bragantino , Tiago scored his first goal for Goias [3] . In the same year, he helped the team win the championship of the second league and enter the elite.
On May 26, 2013, in a duel against Cruzeiro , Mendes made his debut in the Brazilian Series A [4] . On July 29, in the match against Bahia , he scored his first goal in the elite division [5] .
In early 2015, Thiago Mendes moved to São Paulo . On February 1, in the match of the League of Pullista against the Penapolence , he made his debut for a new club [6] . On November 28, Mendes scored his first goal for Sao Paulo in a duel against Figueirense [7] . On April 29, 2016, in the Libertadores Cup match against the Mexican Toluca , he scored a goal [8] . On May 12, 2017, in the duel of the South American Cup against the Argentinean Defense and Hustisia , Tiago scored a goal [9] .
In the summer of 2017, Mendes moved to the French Lille . On August 6, in his match against Nantes , he made his debut in League 1 [10] . On October 14, in a duel against Troyes , Tiago scored his first goal for Lille [11] .
