Shi Xuecheng is a Buddhist monk, chairman of the Buddhist Association of China.

Master Xuecheng was born in Xianju County, Fujian Province in 1966 [1] . In 1982, he began his monastic life and was tonsured by Elder Dinghai. Then he followed the mentor of Yuanzhu to engage in Buddhist study and practice. In 1991, he graduated from Chinese Buddhist University with a master's degree. In 2007, at the University of Thailand at Chulalongkorn, he was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. In 2010, in Bangladesh, the Master received the Atisha Dipankara Gold Peace Prize. And in 2011, the Council of the All-India Bhikkhus Maha Sangha awarded Master Triphenaki with Master Xuecheng.
Current positions: Member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC ( People’s Political Advisory Council of China ), Deputy Chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, Secretary General of the China Religious Peace Committee, Chairman of the Buddhist Association of China , Deputy Rector of the Chinese Buddhist Institute, Vice Rector of the Higher Research Institute for Humanities and Religious Studies, Beijing Normal University , Rector of Guanghua Monasteries (in Putian County, Fujian Province), Famen (in riding Fufeng, Shanxi Province) and Longquan (in Beijing).
