Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 8,368,298 km 2 , of which 8,326.858 km 2 are land and 41.440 km 2 or 0.490% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , the district is home to 70,548 residents of 25,195 households and 17,838 families . The population density is 8.00 people per km 2 . There are 27 676 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 3.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 82.00%, African Americans - 0.82%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 3.37%, Asians - 0.75%, Hawaiians - 0.18%, representatives of other races - 10.67 %, representatives of two or more races - 2.21%. Hispanics accounted for 16.11% of the population, regardless of race .
Of the total number of households , 35.00% are children under the age of 18 years, 55.10% of households are married couples living together, 10.60% of households are single women without a spouse, 29.20% of households households are not related to families , 23.70% of households consist of one person, 9.70% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.67 people and the average family size is 3.14 people.
The age structure of the district: 27.80% under the age of 18, 9.40% from 18 to 24, 28.30% from 25 to 44, 22.20% from 45 to 64, and 22.20% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 104.80 males . For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.70 males .
The average household income in the district was 36,249 USD , for a family - 41,850 USD . The average male earnings were $ 31,479 versus $ 22,325 for a woman . The per capita income was 16,410 USD .
