History
In the VIII century, the Friezes were mostly pagans. The missionary Willibrord rebuilt the Fulda Monastery in 698 , trying to baptize the Frisians. For three generations, the Franks fought with the Frisians, eventually achieving final victory only during the time of Charlemagne .
