He was born in Trenago near Verona, although in many sources Venice was subsequently indicated as the birthplace. Little is known about his childhood and musical education in Italy. He was able to move to Amsterdam thanks to the help of the Dutch consul in Venice; this happened in 1681. In 1682 he moved to Brussels, to the Austrian Netherlands, where he entered the service of Prince Eugene Alexander , and was soon also appointed bandmaster of the local Notre Dame. Since 1694 he was in the leadership of the first public opera house in Brussels . Since the opening of the theater de la Monnet in 1700, he conducted there, then participated in the management of this institution. Had 15 children; one of his sons, Giuseppe Hector , also became a composer. [4]
He wrote mainly works for the church - sacri concerti, masses, motets, chants and so on. In 1681 he wrote music for the opera Helena rapita da Paride, in 1682 - music for the intros of a number of operas.
