Egg tart ( Eng. Egg tart ; aka tart with egg custard) - a dish popular in Portugal, England, Hong Kong. It is a basket of shortcrust or puff pastry filled with an egg and custard . Unlike English cream cakes, egg tart is not sprinkled with ground nutmeg or cinnamon before serving. It is also served with heat and not at room temperature, like English cakes [1] [2] .
