Systematics
The species was first described in 1996 by the French worldmecologist Henri Cagniant (Dr. Henri Cagniant , Toulouse) using typical materials from Morocco. The species name was given in honor of the great Swiss entomologist Auguste Forel ( Auguste Forel , 1848-1931), who first described this taxon under the name Aphaenogaster pallida subterraneoides Forel, 1890 (nom préoccupé par Emery, 1881). It is included in the species group pallida from the subgenus Attomyrma [1] .
