The European Super Cup 1973 is a two-match competition between the winner of the European Cup of the 1972/73 season of the Netherlands Ajax and the winner of the Cup of the Cup of the same season of the Italian club Milan . In the first meeting in Italy, “Ajax” lost 0–1, but defeated the Milanese with a large score of 6–0 in their field and won the Super Bowl. UEFA supervised both meetings, and on this basis considers the 1973 matches to be the first official Super Cup draw, unlike the 1972 games.
