Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the total area of the county is 2,025.382 km 2 , of which 20,015,022 km 2 are land and 10,360 km 2 or 0.540% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , the district has 150,336 residents of 60,530 households and 40,131 families . The population density is 75.00 people per km 2 . There are 67 806 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of about 34.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 96.62%, African - Americans - 0.08%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.42%, Asians - 0.01%, Hawaiians - 0.35%, representatives of other races - 2.09 %, representatives of two or more races - 0.43%. Hispanics accounted for 1.11% of the population, regardless of race .
Out of the total number of households , 26.80% are children under the age of 18, 51.40% of households are married couples living together, 10.20% of households are single women without a spouse, 33.70% of households households are not related to families , 29.90% of households consist of one person, 16.50% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.36 people and the average family size is 2.93 people.
The age structure of the district: 20.90% under the age of 18, 7.20% from 18 to 24, 28.30% from 25 to 44, 23.80% from 45 to 64, and 23.80% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 99.10 males . For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 97.20 males .
