Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are Picard Crater in the west; Craters Pierce and Swift in the northwest; Eckert Crater in the northeast; Fahrenheit Crater in the east-southeast; Shapley Crater in the south and Lick Crater in the southwest. In the south-east of Curtis Crater are the Harker Ranges , in the south of the Terme Ridge [2] . The selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater are , diameter 2.9 km [3] , depth 610 m [4] .
Curtis Crater is a circular bowl-shaped crater with a small area of a flat bottom. The inner slope of the shaft is smooth. The shaft height above the surrounding area is about 70 m [5] , the volume of the crater is approximately 0.32 km 3 [5] .
Before obtaining its own name in 1973, the Curtis crater was called the Picter Z satellite crater.
