At the Olympic Games in 1896, he performed in the 100 meter race and in the long jump. In the preliminary race at a distance of 100 meters, he took 2nd place with a score of 12.75 [1] and reached the final. In the final race he took the last 5th place, and his official result is recorded as 12 seconds + 4 meters behind the winner.
In the long jump, he took 4th place by jumping 5.74 m [2] .
