Description
The emblem was an image of a golden sickle and a hammer in the golden rays of the sun on a white background, framed by ears of corn and oak leaves, intertwined with red ribbons with inscriptions on the left in Lithuanian “Visų šalių proletarai, vienykitės!” (Visų̃ šalių̃ proletãrai, viẽnykitės on the right ) "Workers of all countries, unite!" A five-pointed star was located in the upper part of the coat of arms, and letters on the red ribbon “LTSR” were located in its lower part. The provision on the coat of arms was enshrined in article 167 of the Constitution of the Lithuanian SSR of April 20, 1978 .
Until 1978, oak leaves on the coat of arms were depicted as dark green [1] [2] , although the reason is probably simply because of the printing colors, when the “golden” rays of the sun were depicted as dark bronze, almost brown. In addition, the color of oak leaves is not indicated at all in the description.
