World Hockey League for Men 2012/13 - 1st draw of the field hockey tournament among men's national teams. The tournament, held under the auspices of the FIH , was attended by 54 national teams. The tournament began on August 17, 2012 in Prague ( Czech Republic ), was held in 15 cities around the world. The final round of the tournament was held from January 10 to January 18, 2014 in the city of New Delhi ( India ). [one]

The winner of the tournament was the Netherlands national team , defeating the New Zealand national team with a score of 7: 2. The third place was taken by the England team , who won the match for the 3rd place in the Australian team with a score of 2: 1. [2]
The tournament was also a qualification competition for participation in the 2014 World Cup , which was held from May 31 to June 14, 2014 in the city of The Hague ( Netherlands ). The teams received qualification in two semi-final rounds of the World League (held from June 13 to 22, 2013 in Rotterdam , the Netherlands and from June 29 to July 7, 2013 in Johor Bahru , Malaysia ) and took 6 of the highest places in them, excluding the national team -Mistresses of the World Championship ( Netherlands national team ), as well as 5 national teams that became winners of their continental championships. Tournament Qualification
Each national federation, a member of the FIH , had the opportunity to send their team to participate in the tournament, and after various clarifications, it was announced that 62 teams would take part in the tournament. However, for various reasons, the final number of teams participating in the tournament decreased to 54. [4]
Eight teams with the 1st to 8th places in the FIH ranking (as of April 2011) received an automatic ticket to the semi-final round of the tournament . The following eight teams, ranking 9th to 16th in the FIH ranking, received an automatic ticket to the 2nd round of the tournament . These 16 teams, with their places in the FIG ranking, are as follows [5] :

The French national team (17th according to the FIH rating) was defined as the national team with the highest rating among the teams of the second stage in the period between the tournaments of the 2nd round held in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ( France ) and Elektrostal ( Russia ), not giving the opportunity to the Russian team (20th in the rating) to qualify.
