Demidova, Natalia Fedorovna

Born in a family of rural teachers. In 1942 she graduated from the Moscow Historical Archives Institute . She worked as a researcher at the Central State Archive of Ancient Acts (1946–1964), then at the Historical Museum (1964–1967), Institute of the Far East of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1967–1976), Institute of USSR History (1976–1992), Russian State Archive of Ancient Acts (1993-1998).

Cremated on the Nikolo-Arkhangelsk cemetery ^[2] .

In 1955 she defended her thesis. “The Bashkir Uprising of 1735–1736” (1955), in 1988, his doctoral dissertation ^[2] .

The main areas of research are socio-economic relations, the organization of public administration in Russia in the 16th — 18th centuries; Eastern direction of Russian foreign policy; archeography; heraldry; source study; sphragistics She participated in the preparation of a multi-volume collection of documents "Materials on the history of the Bashkir ASSR" (vols. 3-6). The funds of the Central State Archive of Ancient Acts revealed the “Report of A. I. Tevkelev to V.N. Tatischev” - a document that allowed to establish the date of foundation of the Chelyabinsk fortress (first published in 1956).
