History
In the XVI century BC e. in these places the kingdom of Binh was created (豳 国).
After the kingdom of Qin conquered all other kingdoms and created the first centralized empire in the history of China, Qixian County (漆 县) was created in these places. During the time of the dictatorship of Wang Man, it was renamed Qichi (漆 治 县), but under the Eastern Han Empire, it was returned to its previous name.
Under the Northern Wei Empire, Baitu County (白 土 县) was created in 468. Under the Sui Empire, in 584, it was renamed Xinping (新平县). Under the Tang Empire, in 619, Yongshou County (永寿县) was allocated from Xinping County , and Yilu County (宜 禄 县) in 628.
After the Mongol conquest in 1270, Ilu County was annexed to Xinping County.
During the Ming Empire, in 1368, the Binzhou (邠 州) region was created, which included the districts of Xinping and Chunhua . In 1370, Xinping County was disbanded, and its territory passed under the direct control of regional structures.
Under the Qing Empire, the Binzhou region was elevated in 1725 to the status of “directly controlled” (that is, it began to report directly to the provincial government, bypassing the intermediate link in the form of a council).
After the Xinhai revolution , administrative reform was carried out in China, and the provinces were abolished; in 1913, Binxian County (邠 县) was established on lands previously directly subordinate to the authorities of Binzhou Province.
In 1950, the Baoji Special District (宝鸡 专区) was created, and the county became part of it. In 1956, the Baoji Special District was disbanded, and the county became directly subordinate to the provincial authorities. In 1958, Changyu and Xunyi counties were attached to Binxian County.
In 1961, the Xianyang Special District was re-created, and the county restored within its former borders became part of it. In 1964, due to the fact that the character 邠 was withdrawn from circulation as obsolete, the name of the county began to be written instead of 邠 县 彬县. In 1969, the Xianyang Special District was renamed the Xianyang (咸阳 地区) District.
In September 1983, by the decision of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, the Xianyang District and the city of Xianyang were disbanded, and the Xianyang City District was formed.
In May 2018, by the decision of the State Council of the PRC, Binxian County was transformed into Binzhou City County.
