Allium paepalanthoides (lat.) - a species of monocotyledonous plants of the genus Onion ( Allium ) of the Amaryllidaceae family . First described by British botanist Herbert Kenneth Erie Shaw in 1931 [2] [3] .

The synonymous name is Allium albostellerianum FTWang & Tang [2] .
Endemic to China [4] , known from the provinces of Henan , Shaanxi , Shanxi , Sichuan (hence the type specimen ) and from the Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia . It grows in forests, on slopes and along river banks [5] .
The bulb is single, with a diameter of 0.5-1.5 cm, narrow-ovoid-cylindrical in shape; husk from yellowish-brown to black-brown, sometimes with a reddish tinge [5] .
Leaves from broadly linear to linear-lanceolate, with a pointed end, are inferior in length to the arrow or approximately equal to it. Arrow 15-50 cm long, cylindrical [5] .
Inflorescence is a loose umbrella . The flowers are white, the middle vein of tepals is greenish [5] .
Blossoms and bears fruit in August and September [5] .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16 [5] .
