Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 2,766,123 km 2 , of which 2,763.533 km 2 are land and 2,590 km 2 or 0.100% are water bodies.
Population
According to the 2000 census [1] , the district has 1,844 residents comprising 785 households and 541 families . The population density is 1.00 people per km 2 . There are 1,193 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of less than 1.00 buildings per km 2 . Racial composition of the population: white - 95.28%, African - Americans - 0.05%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 1.95%, Asians - 0.38%, Hawaiians - 0.05%, representatives of other races - 0.60 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.68%. Hispanics made up 3.85% of the population, regardless of race .
Out of the total number of households , 24.50% are children under the age of 18, 57.70% of households are married couples living together, 8.50% of households are single women without a spouse, 31.00% of households households are not related to families , 26.20% of households consist of one person, 10.40% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.35 people and the average family size is 2.82 people.
The age structure of the district: 21.90% under the age of 18, 6.80% from 18 to 24, 26.30% from 25 to 44, 27.80% from 45 to 64, and 27.80% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 107.20 males . For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.50 males .
