Biography

For the first time in competitions under the auspices of FIS started in January 2002. In 2005, at the junior world championships he took eighth place in slalom, becoming the best in his team. A year later, took fourth place, and also became the champion of Italy in his age category.

In December 2008, he made his World Cup debut at the stage in Alta Badya , where he retired on his first attempt. In the same season he scored the first cup points, becoming the 25th at the stage in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

In 2011 he made his debut at the world championships . He performed only in special slalom and showed 11th place. In the 2011/12 season, Gross first hit the Cup podium, becoming the third in Adelboden . In just a season, he made his way to the top three three times and closed the final five in the standings of slalom.

Despite the absence of podiums in the following seasons, Gross joined the national team at the Sochi Olympics . He performed only in slalom , where he stopped a step away from the medal: after the first attempt, he was in third place, but after the second descent he retreated to fourth place, losing to bronze medalist Henrik Kristoffersen only 0.05 s.

In the season 2014/2015, Gross again began to get on the podium of the cup stages in slalom, and also won his first victory at the stage in Adelboden, winning 0.02 and 0.03 seconds against Fritz Dopfer and Marcel Hirscher in a bitter struggle, respectively.
