Biography

Born on January 8, 1907 in the city of Odessa.

He graduated from the seven-year school and agricultural college in the village of Kon-Kolodez . In 1931-1933 served in the army, graduated from the Chita school of junior lieutenants, and after being fired on long-term leave, he worked in agriculture.

During the Great Patriotic War, he commanded a fire platoon and battery as part of the 130th Guards Artillery Regiment of the 58th Guards Rifle Division. He fought from February 1943 to May 1945 on the Southwest, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ukrainian fronts.

The war is over. In November 1945, Senior Lieutenant I.M. Shcheglevatykh was transferred to the reserve. The military service is over. Now he took up his usual business as an agronomist I. M. Shcheglevatykh. In just over two years after the war, he raised to the highest level the work of the Krasny Oktyabr grain farm in the Alekseevsky District of the Stalingrad Region, where he worked as a senior agronomist, and in 1948 he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.

At the beginning of the 50s he supervised the work of the White Prudy state farm (Volgograd region) .

Work was begun to improve the fertility of the fields, increase crop yields and increase livestock production. These years went down in the history of the Tselinniy state farm as years of a steep rise in the economy. Six times the state farm participated in agricultural exhibitions, received the Red Banner of the Council of Ministers and the Red Banner of the Komsomol Central Committee for eternal storage - twice. For success in the development of virgin lands, I. M. Shcheglevatykh was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. Only for health reasons, he left this post and left for his homeland.
