Old Khmelevoy is a village in the Michurinsky district of the Tambov Region , as part of the rural settlement of the Khmelevsky Village Council . Located along the old river Polnoy Voronezh .

Title
The village was named in connection with the growth of wild hops in these places [2] .
History
The village of Old Khmelevoe was founded in 1636 - 37 years. The first settlers were immigrants from the Ryazan province . An earthen rampart of the former Belgorod fortified guard line built by decree of Tsar Mikhail Romanov to protect against Tatars raids passed through Khmelevoy [2] .
Before the revolution, the village of Old Khmelevoy had a volost government, a church, several small shops, two taverns, a wine shop, 4 beer houses, 5 tea houses. In the village there were 5 windmills, 2 steam, one water. There was a ship-saving partnership, a zemstvo and parochial school with 100 students with three teachers. Nevertheless, up to 25% of horseless and up to 30% of bloodless families lived in the village of Staroe Khmelevoe [2] .
In 1928, the first collective farms were formed. In 1957, the electrification of the village was completed. Since 1960, the collective farm "Rodina" has been operating in the village (at present, the SKHPK "Rodina") [2] .
