History

The village of Old Khmelevoe was founded in 1636 - 37 years. The first settlers were immigrants from the Ryazan province . An earthen rampart of the former Belgorod fortified guard line built by decree of Tsar Mikhail Romanov to protect against Tatars raids passed through Khmelevoy [2] .
