The band came into being in 1978, when vocalist Lou Ann Barton left the group Triple Threat, in which Stevie Rae Vaughn was a guitarist . Vaughn took over vocalist duties for himself, and the three remaining musicians in the group — he, bass guitarist Jackie Newhouse, and drummer Chris (Wipper) Leighton — were renamed Double Trouble. In 1980, bass guitarist Tommy Shannon came to the group who learned to play the blues apprentice with Johnny Winter . In 1983, Won's Texas Flood debut album was released . It was published on behalf of the Steve Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble team - Shannon and Leighton were accompanied by Vaughan and continued to be his accompanying group until his death in 1990 [1] .
In 2015, the group Steve Ray Vaughn (posthumously) and the group Double Trouble were taken to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame [2] .
