He graduated from the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute. S. Ordzhonikidze (1975) and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR (1989). At diplomatic work since 1982.

In 1999-2002 - Counselor-Envoy of the Russian Embassy in Moldova .

In 2002-2008 - Deputy Director of the Department - Secretariat of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Director of the Department of Linguistic Support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From November 5, 2008 to February 6, 2013 he was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Costa Rica [2] [3] . Previously, he served as adviser-envoy of the Russian Embassy in Moldova , deputy director of the Department - Secretariat of the Russian Foreign Ministry, director of the Department of Linguistic Support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He was married, has a son and daughter.
