The State Museum of Palekh Art is a museum of Russian folk art of Palekh miniature located in the village of Palekh, Ivanovo Region , Russia .

Content
History
In October 1931, on the advice of Maxim Gorky, art critic Anatoly Bakushinsky, in a letter to the People’s Commissariat of Education of the RSFSR, recommended the organization of an art museum in Palekh. The decision on this was adopted on May 8, 1934. March 13, 1935, 10 years after the founding of the Artel of Ancient Painting, the museum was opened [1] . In 1936, the museum's collection was replenished with icons of the Holy Cross Cathedral of Palekh.
The museum brought works from its collections to Yakub Ganetskiy and Yefim Vikhrev . The museum's collections are constantly replenished with the works of leading artists of Palekh.
On August 29, 2014, the Museum of Palekh Art received a new building, which housed a collection of icons, since the old building could exhibit only 13% of all works.
Exposition
The collection of the museum has more than 10 thousand exhibits, including more than 3000 Russian icons , including icons of the XIV-XVI centuries, more than 7000 varnish miniatures, works of Italian, Dutch, Flemish, German artists of the XVI-XIX centuries, as well as paintings by Palekh artists.
Palekh miniature is represented by such masters as Ivan Golikov , Ivan Markichev , Ivan Bakanov , Alexander Zubkov , Alexander Kotukhin , Ivan Vakurov , Dmitry Butorin , Nikolai Zinoviev .
The Art Museum has a library and information center, which contains more than 8 thousand books [2] . The branches of the art museum are the Pavel Korin House Museum , the Nikolai Dydykin Museum Workshop in the village of Diaghilev , the Ivan Golikov House Museum, the Nikolai Zinoviev Museum Estate.
The procedure and cost of admission
The museum is open to visitors from 10:00 to 17:00 daily, except Monday; Sanitary Day is the last Friday of every month. A single entrance ticket to all departments of the museum for adult visitors costs 200 rubles, and for pensioners, children and students - 100 rubles [3] .
