There were two main musical groups in the project - Parliament and Funkadelic , each with its own particular musical style - but in fact these two groups were two sides of the same coin [2] , because they were played by the same musicians.
In addition to the above groups, the project spawned many smaller, with varying degrees of temporality, musical groups and projects - for example, Brides of Funkenstein and Parlet, solo careers of individual participants, especially George Clinton himself and bassist Bootsy Collins , as well as the cumulative music group P-Funk All-Stars [2] .
Altogether, in the 1970s, about 60 singles from the Parliament, Funkadelic groups and a number of related branch projects were included in the rhythm and blues chart of the “Billboard” [2] .
In 1997, the Parliament-Funkadelic team was introduced to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame [3] . In addition, one song from “Parliament and Funkadelic” groups (“ Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker ” and “ One Nation Under a Groove ”, respectively) is included in the list of 500 Rocks & Roll Hall of Fame Shaped Rock and Roll [4] .
