The son of mathematician David Pinhusovich Milman and Nema Emanuelovna (Mendelevna) Milman. In 1967 he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow University , worked as a researcher at the N. N. Semenov Institute of Chemical Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solid State Physics of the USSR Academy of Sciences . [one]

In 1975, he defended his Ph.D. thesis at Tel Aviv University and in the same year began working at the University of Toronto. Since 1986 - professor at the University of Toronto . Member of the Royal Canadian Society (1997).

Family

  • The brothers are mathematicians Vitaly Milman and Vladimir Milman (born 1948), technology coordinator at the University of Toronto, playwright and producer of the Phoenix Theater. [4] .
