Ivan Filippovich Filippov ( 1655 ; Shuisky pogost , Obonezhskaya pyatina - December 3, 1744 ; Vygoretsky monastery ; Arkhangelogorod province ) - an Old Believer, writer and historian of the Old Believers, film kinarch of the Vygovsk desert (1741-1744).

Ivan was born in 1655 in the family of a state peasant. The first 30 years of his life was a New Believer.
Under the influence of Peter Prokofiev, he changed his views and became an Old Believer, and then came to the Vygoretskaya desert in 1714, where he lived for 40 years. In the beginning, he served as an attorney (solicitor) for the affairs of Pomeranian Old Believers , and after the death of Simeon Denisov was elected his successor.
As one of the prominent figures of the Old Believers, he was persecuted and even kept in prison for some time. His literary work was very extensive; his works are primarily of a historical nature. Filippov left many valuable testimonies of the life of the ascetics of the old faith. Pavel Curious points out his following works: “The Full History of Vygoretsky Kinovia”, “A Brief Chronology of Important Events that Occurred in Vygoretsky Kinovia”; “A full description of the entire commission, which, by the will of the highest authorities, has been continuously in the Highlands for 7 years, exhausting and forcing it tyrannically”; “Brief stories about the suffering of husbands and wives in different places of Russia are courageous for the piety of the victims”; “Brief narratives of the persecution of the Old Believers churches in different countries of Russia”; "A full description of the life of Vygoretsky film kinovarch Andrei Dionisievich, patriarch of the Old Believer churches." The main of these works is “The Complete History of Vygoretsky Kinovia”; for her other works served as preparatory studies. The “History” is based on the work of Andrei Denisov and on the stories of Vygovsky old-timers and on various manuscript sources. The presentation is clear and fairly objective, although in some places F. falls into the rhetoric characteristic of a generally Vygov school. Published "History" Kozhanchikov (St. Petersburg., 1862).
