Cesu street ( Latvian: Cēsu iela ) - a street in Riga , in the Vidzeme suburb . It branches off from Brivibas street at the New Church of Gertrude [1] and ends, merging again into Brivibas street, at the office complex “Ziemeļu vārti” (d. 151). The length of the street is 723 meters [2] .

History
The original name is Bolshaya Pesochnaya street. In 1815, the street was straightened, and it took a new path. In 1818, Bolshaya Pesochnaya Street was renamed Aleksandrovskaya, a circular piece of the old street was called Malaya Aleksandrovskaya Street, and then Old Aleksandrovskaya ( German Alte Alexanderstraße ), since 1885 this street became known as Wendensche Street ( German Wendensche Straße [3] , by the name of the city of Venden , now Cesis).
On April 2, 1900, young V. I. Lenin made a stop at the apartment of the St. Petersburg revolutionary Mikhail Alexandrovich Silvin at 17, on Cesu Street [4] .
