Roy Hartle ( Eng. Roy Hartle ; October 4, 1931 - November 5, 2014 ) is an English professional footballer who mainly played as a right-back.

Sports career
He spent most of his career at the Bolton Wanderers . At the age of 16, he moved to the club from the Bromsgrove Rovers and ended up playing 499 matches in all competitions for Bolton. His greatest achievement with the club is his victory in the 1958 FA Cup Final , Bolton beat Manchester United 2-0.
After one year in the United States with the New York Generals [1] [2], he completed his playing career and was appointed as the main scout at Bury , and was also offered jobs at Stoke City and Grimsby Town [ 3] .
He was included in the Bolton Hall of Fame and had a club suite at Reebok Stadium, named after him. He died on November 5, 2014, at the age of 83 after a long illness, having spent the last years in a local nursing home [4] .
