Botanical Description

Evergreen shrub up to 2 m tall. The leaves are collected in whorls of 4 (3-5), lanceolate, 1-3 × 0.3-0.5 cm, whole, often folded, dark green and smooth or slightly hairy on top and covered with white pubescence from below. Petiole no more than 1 mm long, also pubescent.

Sinuous flowers , whorled around the stem, zygomorphic, up to 2 cm in diameter. Bracts 1.5-2.2 mm long. The cup is five - toothed, covered with white pressed pubescence, a tube 2.9-3.5 mm long, teeth 2-3-3.2 × 0.8-1.5 mm. Corolla white, with purple or brown dots.

The fruit is dry, multi-nested.

Range

Endemic to the coast of New South Wales from the Mid-North Coast to Cape Howe . It grows on sandy hills off the coast.

Value
