History
Founded in 1888 by American Presbyterians as a Christian college in Canton . In 1900, in connection with the Ihetuan uprising , the school moved to Macau , in 1904 returned to Canton, in a specially constructed new building. In 1938, after the Japanese troops occupied Canton, the college moved to Hong Kong, and in 1941, after the fall of the British colony, it moved to Shaoguan . After the end of World War II, the school returned to its campus in Guangzhou [3] .
After the Communists came to power, the college remained in Guangzhou and in 1952 it became part of the local Sun Yat-sen University. In 1967, thanks to escaping graduates, Lingnan School was established in Hong Kong.
