Walt Martin ( born Walter "Walt" B. Martin ; April 8, 1945 , USA - July 24, 2014 , Burbank , California , USA ) - American sound engineer (sound mixer), known for his work in the films of the director Clint Eastwood . Twice nominee for an Academy Award [2] .

Career
He began working in cinema since 1982. Since 1999, as part of a group of sound engineers, he began to collaborate with director Clint Eastwood in his films: The Real Crime (1999), Space Cowboys (2000), Bloody Work (2002), Mysterious River (2003) , " Million Dollar Baby " (2004) and others (more than a dozen films in total). In 2007, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound in Eastwood's Flags of Our Fathers .
The last work of Walt Martin was the movie of the same Clint Eastwood's " Sniper ", which was released at the end of 2014, after the death of the sound engineer, for which he was posthumously nominated for American and British film academy awards.
He died on July 24, 2014, at the age of 69, from complications caused by vasculitis , after being hospitalized at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center with chest pain. He left his wife Elena and stepdaughter Claudia [3] .
