Ponevezys county ( lit. Panevėžio apskritis ) is an administrative unit of the Coven province , which existed in 1795 - 1920. The county town is Ponevezh .

History
In 1795, upit county was formed in the Vilnius province after the third division of the Commonwealth . In 1836, the Upit County was renamed Ponevezhsky . In 1842, the county became part of the newly formed Coven province .
Population
According to the 1897 census, the population of the county was 222,881 people, including 12,968 inhabitants in Ponevezh [1] ., In the places of the Exchange - 5020 inhabitants., Let it be - 3034 inhabitants [2] .
