Daughter of Raimund Berenguer II , Count of Provence, and Ryxa of Silesia . At the conclusion of peace with Toulouse County , in October 1165 she was engaged to Raimund , the heir to Count Raimund V. After the spring of next year, Raimund Berenguer II died under the walls of Nice , Raimund V decided to try to take possession of Provence, and broke off his son's engagement in order to marry Dulsa's mother himself. The Regency Council of Aragon did not want to give Provence to the Toulouse, and in the same year young Alphonse II of Aragon arrived in the county, starting a new war with Toulouse.
In 1167, the Aragonesans removed the young Dulce from power, and Alphonse became the Count of Provence and Zhevodan. Dulsa retained only part of the county Melgoy inherited from the grandmother. Dulce died in 1172, and the First Provencal line of the Barcelona House ended with her.
